Although the championship battle is still alive, Barcelona are already staring for next season – and according to reports in Catalonia, a particularly stormy summer awaits them. In Spain, Barça’s plan for the upcoming summer was announced tonight (Tuesday), claiming that no less than six players will be put up for sale. These are Matthews Fernandez, Neto, Miralem Pjanic, Filippa Coutinho, Martin Breithwait and Samuel Omititi.
According to the report, goalkeeper Iniaki a request from the reserve team is expected to be the replacement for Neto in Ronald Koeman’s squad, who will reportedly continue at Barca next season. Team president Joan Laporta met with the coach today and the club will honor the contract signed with the Dutchman before the dismissal of Josep Maria Bartomeu.
Alongside the two, young Alex Cuyado is expected to take Coutinho’s place; Eric Garcia, who is set to join the team for free after his time at Manchester City, will replace Omtiti; Giorgini Vinaldom of Liverpool may sign in place of Pjanic; And Memphis Defay Million will come in place of Braithwaite if there is no last-minute change. In the case of Matthews Fernandez Barça is expected to look for the loan deal.
