Killian Hayes status uncertain Friday vs Celtics

After suffering a sprained right ankle this week, Detroit Pistons rookie Killian Hayes is available to play Friday against the undefeated Boston Celtics, head coach Dwane Casey said.

Hayes left the game early Tuesday night against the Golden State Warriors in the third quarter and was again denied the return of the team. Casey said after the game that Hayes tried to play through the injury in the second half but was unable to keep going.

“Killian went through work today,” Casey said Thursday. “It’s still day to day. We’ll see where it is. ”

The 19-year-old went scoreless in 17 minutes of work when he lost to the Warriors as he missed all four bullet attempts off the field. He has started all four of Pistons’ games to this point, averaging five points, 3.5 assists and 1.5 rebounds in 21.8 minutes per game.
