The families of 9/11 victims are calling on President Joe Biden’s administration to release documented documents about Saudi occupation in September. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
The call back on the government’s decision to release an intelligence report on Friday said Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had approved the killing of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
‘I don’t understand how our government can release the documents about the murder of one person two years ago but not the documents about the murder of 3,000 people 20 years ago,’ says Brett Eagleson, a suspect for 9/11 families who lost said his father at the World Trade Center, told Yahoo News, which first described the families’ request.

Nearly 20 years after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, the families of the victims still do not know the full extent of Saudi involvment
The families sent a letter to Biden and Merrick Garland, the presidential election for attorney general who is expected to be confirmed by the Senate later in the week.
‘We urge you to suspend this prediction of justice and ensure that the Department of Justice provides the documents and cooperation we need immediately so that we can hold Saudi Arabia to account. finally, ‘the letter said, according to Yahoo.
Nearly 2,000 family members of 9/11 victims signed.
‘We pray that, after nearly two decades of seeking accountability, our struggle will finally end with the 20th anniversary of the darkest day in American history,’ the letter continued. . ‘We’ve waited long enough.’
Family lawyer James Kreindler told Yahoo that the release of the Khashoggi report gives his messengers a new ability to request the release of 9/11 documents as well.
These documents include a 2012 FBI report on the suspected links between Saudi government officials and their hackers.
9/11 families hit a roadblock during the last administration when Attorney General Bill Barr and Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell blocked the release of additional FBI disclosures sought as evidence in a case civil law against the Saudi government.
In April 2020, Barr, Grenell and other Trump administration officials used last-minute court filters to stop the news, arguing that the revelations would undermine national security.
They could not even disclose the justification for why the release could harm national security, as that could also, officials said, according to a ProPublica statement.
Another lawyer for the families, Steven Pounian, told ProPublica at the time, ‘The incredible lengths they are going to go here suggest that there must be something deeply mysterious that they are still trying very hard to hide after nearly 20 years. ‘
‘But who are they defending? ‘Asked Pounian. ‘Maybe something is a mystery from the Saudi government. But how can these be a mystery that still needs to be kept from the American people after this time? ‘
9/11 families have a relationship in the Senate – Sens Democratic. Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut and Bob Menendez of New Jersey – who in a separate letter urged the Department of Justice to review the Trump administration’s decision to withhold the material.
Yahoo also said that the U.S. government ‘s Public Interest Assurance Board, which makes recommendations on possible disclosures, is expected to look into the 9/11 – related material.
That could come within a few weeks.
The 2004 9/11 Commission report found that while 15 of the 19 were Saudi captives, investigators found no evidence of Saudi government funding or sanctioned the attack.
The 9/11 families first sued the Saudi government in 2003, but federal law at the time protected the foreign government from litigation in American courts. Congress controlled President Barack Obama’s beast to change the law in 2016.
