Despite the nature of the injury he suffered, general managers across the NBA expect Kevin Durant to look like his old self in 2020-21. So much so that until recently across the league, seven percent of NBA general managers expect Durant to get the MVP node in 2020-21. Only four players received a higher percentage of votes: Giannis Antetokounmpo (32%) at Milwaukee, Luka Doncic (21%) at Dallas, Anthony Davis (18%) at Los Angeles and LeBron James (18%).
The MVP race this season was not the only thing the general managers voted for. The group also voted on “Which new or relocated head coach will have the biggest impact on his new team?” Brooklyn’s Steve Nash was the leader of the foundation, taking 28% of the vote to eliminate Doc Rivers Philadelphia (24%)
Moreover, NBA general managers believe that Nash is the best assistant coach in the entire league on his staff in Mike D’Antoni. Chris Finch Toronto (14%) finished second in the vote behind the Nets assistant (18%).
