Katana Zero Dev says free DLC is so great now it’s “More like Katana 1.5”

Katana Zero

Katana Zero was one of the indie hits in 2019 and since then game developer Askiisoft has been working on the free DLC.

Last February, it was announced that the content would be three times larger than originally planned, and now, in a new update across the company’s website, it was announced as “6x” the size originally planned. Here’s what to expect from this great content:

“That’s a little more than half the size of the main game. This means more levels, mechanics, enemies, bosses, and interconnected story elements. It’s less like DLC and more like Katana 1.5. “

Despite the scale, it will still be “at home” (in other words, free). While development has slowed over the past year, it is now returning to normal.

As for when it arrives, the creator – Justin Stander – I haven’t thought about this yet, but one thing that has been proven is no to further expand:

“The short answer is – I don’t know yet. There’s a ton of content ready, but this is a big project and I’m aiming for the same level of quality and attention in the base game. I’m still doing all the programming and design myself – this is my passion project after all.But don’t worry! The game is progressing at a healthy pace, and the whole dev team working on production. The DLC will not expand any further either – the plan is in place and now we aim to complete it. “

When Katana Zero first arrived on the Switch in April 2019, we praised its tight hair-building action sequences, gripping statement and incredible style sense. Learn more about it in our review.
