Kamaru Usman Vs Jorge Masvidal II Main Event Fans Return

Kamaru Usman and Jorge Masvidal are expected to meet for the second time on April 24, with Dana White securing a big card for UFC 261.

It’s only a month since Usman defended his last title, defeating former team player Gilbert Burns, and he returns to action next month.

In a video on his Twitter account, UFC president White revealed that fans would be returning to the U.S. center for the first time in about a year, in Jacksonville, Florida.

Usman and Masvidal, who fought last year on Fight Island without fans, will face off again, with Valentina Shevchenko and Weili Zhang defending their titles on the same card.

Last year, Usman was set to defend his title against Burns in Australia at UFC 251. A Covid-19 pandemic delayed the fight and forced him to move space.

After months of suggestions about ‘Fight Island’, White revealed that it would take place in Yas Island, Dubai, but Burns had to withdraw late due to his coach ‘s advanced test for the virus.

That forced Masvidal to go in at the last minute, a decision that included a major pressure cut for the BMF champion.

Usman then battled Burns in his next UFC 258 title defense in February, with Brazil causing early trouble for the Nigerians.

Shevchenko, who has only two UFC losses has come to big Amanda Nunes, is ready to defend her flying weight title against Jessica Andrade.

The Brazilian is well acquainted with the two women competing in the third title fight on the night of April, between Weili in China and Rose Namajunas, with Andrade having fought both of them at straw weight, making defeated Namajunas for a title before losing it to Zhang.

This is the second time in just over a month that White has pitched three title games in a night, following a UFC 259 success earlier this month.
