Juventus have turned down the chance to sign Arsenal outcast Mesut Ozil for free in January.

Ozil is desperate to leave Arsenal after being left out of Mikel Arteta’s Premier League and Europa League teams at the start of the season.

However, a number of European clubs have rejected the attacking German midfielder.

The Gunners have been keen to shed Ozil ‘s £ 350,000-a-week salary amid the financial effects of the pandemic.

So, according to Tuttosport, both Arsenal and Ozil ‘s agent Erkut Sogut have offered the Real Madrid star to several European clubs.

To push a contract over the line in January – six months before his contract expires – Arsenal have offered to pay half of Ozil ‘s salary if he joins Juventus.

However, the Italian giants rejected Arsenal’s offer and refused the opportunity to sign the 32-year-old.

Ozil has not played competitive football since March but will continue to follow a move in January despite his recent rejections.
