In the video: Danny Abdia’s 2 points
The NBA season is approaching its halfway point, and Danny Abdia is still struggling to gain momentum. Washington, on the other hand, is just the opposite. The Wizards hosted tonight (Thursday through Friday) in Denver, and sealed their away game tour with a dramatic 110: 112 win that completes a seasonal sweep over Nikola Jukic and his teammates. Abdia played 20 minutes and scored just 2 points (1 of 1 from the field), two rebounds and an assist.
From there, the team from the capital counts six wins in its last seven games, and it holds an 18:12 balance that allows it to fantasize about the playoffs in the East. Between Saturday and Sunday she will be able to improve her status when she meets at home the weak Minnesota from the bottom of the west.

So what did we have tonight in Colorado? A great thriller that reminded me of the previous meeting between the teams last week, which ended in 128: 130 for the Wizards. This time Washington was not chasing the Nuggets, because it was they who took advantage of Denver’s awkward opening and climbed to a double-digit advantage in the first half.
If you’re wondering how awkward the hosts’ first minutes were, they recorded seven losses in the first quarter. In their win over Portland 48 hours ago, for comparison, they equaled the NBA record with one loss per game. As we learned in the bubble, Mike Mellon’s gang is not afraid of delays, and very quickly it mimics the difference that peaked at 12.
Jamal Marie sniped three after three (Abdia experienced this firsthand), Yukic also joined the off-arc celebration in the third quarter and the momentum shifted to Denver’s side. Bradley Bill and Russell Westbrook kept their team in the picture with some big moves in the clutch, and in the midst of the thriller the Nuggets had a great chance to win the game or at least send it into overtime. In the very last attack that came in a burst, Marie handed Pecondo Campasso instead of going to the ring, and the Argentine coordinator missed the potential ‘winner shot’ on the buzzer.
The league’s king of baskets, Bill, again excelled with 33 points, and Westbrook recorded his ninth triple-double of the season with 16 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Roy Hachimura scored 20 points in the absence of Davis Bartens (knee pain) and Raul Neto was Scott Brooks’ X Factor with 15 points and 5 steals. Marie, on the other hand, finished with 34 and Vukic recorded 24 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists.
