Pittsburgh Steelers striker JuJu Smith-Schuster says he has done dancing on the crests of opposing teams after the criticism he received during their losing three-game streak.

“For me, I was dancing when we weren’t basically, I was dancing when we lost all three of our games,” Smith-Schuster said Wednesday, via Brooke Pryor of ESPN. “I’m not going to change who I am. … I saw it more as a disrespect, but it’s for my fans on social media.”

Smith-Schuster had been doing TikTok dances on the opponents ’flagship preseason, which took off from opposition a few weeks ago and became a national story after Pittsburgh’s loss to the Cincinnati Bengals last night Monday – a game in which JuJu caught just three passes for 15 yards and missed a crucial fumble.

The receiver’s announcement came a day after Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said he would speak to his player about the matter.

“I’m aware of it and plan to talk to JuJu,” Tomlin said. “But we are professionals. I doubt any of those misconceptions and things like that are legitimate motivating factors as long as you enter professional stadiums. But it’s all about respect. so we will have a conversation.

“But I understand it’s about the quality of play within the white lines. I’m not looking for comfort or looking for excuses based on our recent accomplishments on things that are ‘happen in pregame or things like that that are related to social media. “
