‘Jose is right’ – Chelsea boss Tuchel responds to Mourinho ‘s jibes

The Blues boss has explained what he expects from his team ahead of a derby in London on Thursday night

Thomas Tuchel has responded to Jose Mourinho’s comments that PSG’s work cannot “compare” with a Premier League man ahead of Chelsea’s trip to Tottenham on Thursday night.

Mourinho seemed to be playing into the idea that coaching in the Premier League will be more challenging than it was in France with recent comments pointing to Chelsea’s new boss.

While in charge of his first derby in London, Tuchel will also face Mourinho for the first time as manager and responded to the comments made by the number opposite him.

“You can’t compare. I totally agree. It’s completely different. It’s a completely different culture. It’s a different view. It’s a different way of playing, “Tuchel told reporters. “I want to make this clear: for me there is nothing better and worse – it is [just] very, very different.

“Right Jose, it’s a big difference. It doesn’t matter what is better or what is worse it is just if it fits and right now this fits me perfectly. I feel very comfortable. ”

Tuchel’s game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is his third to head the club after Frank Lampard was sacked last week.

He will face the same man who was twice bagged by Roman Abramovich, the billionaire owner of Chelsea, who is known for being brutal with his managers. However, Mourinho is widely regarded as a success at Chelsea, having won three Premier League titles over two spells.

Tuchel was asked how to handle the desire for quick results with long – term achievements in his approach in west London.

“I think for that we need a good relationship between the players and me so that we can always talk about the performance,” he said. “We hope the results continue. They don’t follow all the time in football.

“The hardest thing to control is a manager who wants to control everything and for a coach who wants to plan everything but in football, you have to accept that you can’t you control the output. In the Premier League, you can’t control the result. It is impossible.

“What is achievement? It’s: ‘what the manager expects of me, why he expects of me and what the team expects of me as a player when I play, and how we should play together as group ‘. It is like an orchestra; we need to follow a certain rhythm, control and style.

“If you ask me if I’d rather be lucky, or lose without support, I’m definitely going for a lucky win because it’s easier to do that. However, we are here to achieve at a level that will allow us to earn more opportunity because in football we cannot do more. ”
