Joanna Lumley was a guest on The Last Leg on Channel 4 on Friday night, saying she ‘hates’ the scene

She said: ‘I like to scratch in public, I really hate it.

‘It destroys everyone and everything, and it makes everyone look sideways and argue with each other, and grow disgusted. It spreads hate, I don’t like it.

‘I don’t rub my hands, I don’t see the interview. I can’t do it. ‘

The interview is highly controversial even before it was broadcast, with some, like Meghan’s former co-star Patricks Adams, defending the couple, and others, like Piers Morgan, getting a heavy criticism.

Joanna, who also starred at Wolf of Wall Street, said: ‘Of course I’ve met them, I’ve never met Meghan but I’ve met the young princes and I’ve met Charles, I have met the Duke of Edinburgh and the Queen and all those people.

American network CBS is expected to broadcast a two-hour special Harry and Meghan in the US at 1am UK time on Monday morning – with ITV broadcasting the show at 9pm that evening.

ITV has slammed back at the decision to go ahead with the release of the interview while 99-year-old Harry’s grandfather undergoes heart surgery in hospital .

The interview is expected to make the royal family uncomfortable, with over-produced teaser fans seeing the Duchess of Sussex already accusing the ‘Firm’ of ‘lasting lies’ about her and Prince Harry during their time at Kensington Palace.
