She prefers this year’s season of I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here !, but Jess Eva has worked hard to get to where she is.

In a quick glance at Tuesday’s episode of the reality show, received by news.com.au, the 36-year-old radio guest opened up about her small build.

Speaking to co-star Robert ‘Dipper’ DiPierdomenico, Jess revealed she didn’t have electricity at home until she was 18.

She also said that she never went to school camp or formally attended Year 12, as her family was unable to.

Jess admitted that while most people find her upbringing ‘a little weird’, she was still ‘having a good time’.

But she acknowledged that her family’s financial struggles gave her the motivation she needed to pursue a successful media career.

‘I never wanted to be locked up for money,’ she admitted.

‘I saw how much pressure he put on Mum, I saw how much he put Dad on. [I know] if I can crack stuff, I can help my mother, I can help my brother. ‘

After pursuing a career in radio, Jess moved to the Maldives to host a concert, before returning to Australia after suffering a monkey bite in India.

She then got a job at a radio station in Cairns, where she met her husband, Norm Hogan, with whom she has been for 10 years.

The couple appeared on The Block in 2018, and Jess is now appearing as a co-host of Triple M’s Moonman In the Morning breakfast show.

Talking about her rise to success, Jess became emotional, and Dipper, 62, had to comfort her.

”[The Block] when our lives have changed… It’s amazing how if one believes in you, it starts this ripple effect, ‘she told I’m A Celebrity.

‘I had been working in radio for years, just begging someone to believe in me … Someone believed in me, and then he started this strong influence of Block then Triple M in in Sydney. ‘

She said: ‘You’re just so proud when your son takes a letter home and says I’m going to go to this camp and I need 40 buckets… And that’s not even a question. It’s nice to be able to go, ‘Sure son, here you are.’ ‘
