Jenna Coleman shared behind-the-scenes moments from her fashion clips ahead of her role on BBC One and the Netflix series The Serpent.

The 34-year-old actress has earned a reputation for her role as Marie-Andrée Leclerc of France, Charles Sobhraj’s murderous partner in a crime.

The snake is an octagonal series based on the a true story of Charles, a murderer, a thief and a deceitful master, who was a hidden darkness in the mid-70s on the Asian hippie trail.

Jenna talked about fashion on the series with Vogue magazine recently.

She said: ‘ We had a lot of reference images and talked about wanting darkness [Brigitte] Vote Bardot. In my mind, Marie-Andrée was happy with magazines, especially Paris.

The idea was that she wanted to shed her French-Canadian identity and transform into someone else. Her look has floatiness to it and I gave her the idea to wear kimonos around the house.

French Canadian Leclerc began her friendship with Sobhraj at the age of 30 after poisoning her male friend to ‘get him out of the way’, but Leclerc was ‘excited’ to meet a charismatic Sobhraj.

While in prison, authorities in Thailand tried to expand Sobhraj and threw a big party for both prisoners and guards. He drugged them all with sleeping pills and managed to walk out of jail.

He was captured and imprisoned for another 10 years for the incident until 1997.

He was again sued in Nepal in 2004 when he was jailed for the murder of U.S. tourist Connie Joe Bronzich in 1975.

In 2014, he was given a second life sentence for killing Canadian backpacker Laurent Carriere, who used his passport to flee Nepal after killing the couple.

Sobhraj has now been linked to 20 murders during the killing spree.

While imprisoned in Kathmandu, he married Sobhraj Biswas, 44, the daughter of his lawyer.

Leclerc maintained her innocence up to the time of her death at the age of 38, after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer while in prison in India.

She was allowed to return to Canada on condition that she return to India when her health improved.
