Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos regained his title as the richest person in the world after jumping to Tesla CEO Elon Musk, according to real-time data from Forbes.

Musk saw its net worth slip by $ 3.9 billion on Tuesday when Tesla shares closed at $ 796.22, down more than 2.4%. The 49-year-old entrepreneur overtook Bezos in January to become the richest person in the world, behind Tesla’s surging share price and its generous pay package.

Musk brought the title of the richest man in the world back to Bezos just as quickly as he rose in the rankings. Until last month, Bezos had been the richest man since 2017.

The personal wealth of the founder of Amazon, which is mostly in Amazon stock, has skyrocketed in recent years along with the company’s share price. Bezos has continued to bring new wealth milestones. In August last year, he became the first person to see their net worth in excess of $ 200 billion and in 2018 he became the richest man in the world in recent history when he climbed his personal wealth over $ 150 billion.

Bezos has once again become the richest man in the world as he prepares to leave his post later this year. Earlier this month, Bezos announced it would take over the reins of Amazon cloud chief executive Andy Jassy. Bezos is expected to continue to oversee the company he founded, but will have more time to focus on other projects, including his rocket company Blue Origin and The Washington Post, as well as philanthropic initiatives supporting Bezos Universe Property and Amazon Day 1 Property.
