James Harden makes history in the Brooklyn Nets debate with 30-Point Triple-Double

James Harden had his first time with the historic Brooklyn Nets.

And he and his new franchise could not have started better.

In his first game since the big trade he brought over from Houston, Harden went for 32 points, 14 assists, 12 rebounds and four leads as the Nets won their third straight, 122-115, over. on Orlando at the Barclays Center.

Harden was the seventh player to score three doubles in his first team and the first player ever to score a three-pointer in his first time. His 14 fans were the biggest ever for a Nets player in his first game. He almost had a rectangle with nine turns, something he wasn’t happy about.

Asked what all that meant by Michael Grady from the YES Network, Harden said “Nothing, I’m glad we came away with the win. Those stats mean nothing, I just try to do everything on the court in my ability to help the team win. I’m glad we came away with a win, now we’re ready for the next game. ”

Kevin Durant poured in 42 points on a 16-of-26 shooting in his first game playing alongside his team-mate Oklahoma City Thunder. Joe Harris scored 17 points and Jeff Green 10 for Brooklyn (8-6). Kyrie Irving missed his sixth game for personal reasons or contrary to Covid’s NBA protocols.

“When you pay with really good players, it’s very easy,” Harden said. “For me, I’m just learning to read, learn where boys are like the ball, just teaching our staff on their own so once I get that, the versions cut down, I can be more efficient. ”

After saying Friday that he intended to be a bigger helper alongside his new players, Harden was clearly looking to bring in his early players.

He passed behind Green to three for three. He made a nifty dish for Harris for layup. He stopped Cole Anthony’s pass. In the second half, he moved to the basket and fired a pass to Durant for three and then started to take on more scorers.

“James, he played as always, to be honest,” Durant said. “He played the same way he did in Houston, as a first guard, trying to get a good look at guys. He played the same way.

“The coach put him at the point, I think that’s his natural position, he’s a point guard and a combo. For 14 assists, we had 12 rebounds at the crucial point guard. ”

Harris said: “I think it’s inspiring. The talent, the level of play, the energy and the companionship we had, it felt like we had been playing together for a long time. ”

Harris said it will be particularly difficult for teams opposed to defending the Nets’ offensive weapons.

“You can try I believe doubling one of those boys, but if you double James, it will be hard to go and double Kevin if he catches the ball or if he doubles Kyrie if he catches the ball,” Harris said. “Or if you leave me or someone else who’s a hunter out there, he really chooses your kind of poison situation.”

First-year coach Steve Nash loved what he saw.

“I can’t say I’m surprised,” said Nets first-year coach Steve Nash. “We had a really simple size for him to do that [for] however many years he has been in the league. But it’s still not easy. Not yet in the best condition yet, he has joined a new group.

“There was basically no practice time, and it came out on the fly. He had a handful of turns just because he is new to the team and the group and you are thrown out there in the NBA where the other team is an excellent coach basketball team …. But everything he did on the floor was amazing for his first game. ”

Nash said before the game that Harden ‘s natural position is a point guard, so it will be interesting to see how he responds to Irving once he returns, whether it’ s Monday or later. Nash pre-match said it was time to return “to be determined.”

“Throwing Kyrie in the mix makes us better,” Nash said. “It’s a great problem, trying to figure out how they can live at the highest level.

“So I think it will take time, it will be a change for everyone but it is an amazing problem to have and something that I think we will enjoy. ”

Harden said: “I’m really excited that Ky will get back, it’s a key part of what we do … We hope next game we have Ky back and just keep this thing going. ‘dol. ”
