Jack Clarke: Middlesbrough, Stoke and Swansea Championship Pack seeks loan for Tottenham player | Football News

Middlesbrough, Stoke and Swansea are among Championship clubs seeking a loan for Tottenham ‘s Jack Clarke.

Sheffield on Wednesday and Coventry are said to be big for the winger, who has appeared twice in the Europa League for Spurs this season.

Clarke is said to have impressed Jose Mourinho’s coaching staff since returning from a loan at QPR last term and is ready to play older minutes.

Boro, in particular, is looking at potential new keepers, with Duncan Watmore still signing a new deal on Teesside.

Clarke joined Spurs from Leeds in the summer of 2019 after a remarkable breakout season, and was loaned to them immediately before that was cut short due to a lack of playing time under Marcelo Bielsa.

Tottenham head coach Mourinho himself has to put players off this month to bring in any, with Paulo Gazzaniga and Danny Rose left as required.

Gazzaniga is trying to find a new club while the Trabzonspor Turkish side are interested in bringing Rose, who has not been named in this season ‘s Tottenham Premier League squad, to Turkey. Benfica, meanwhile, are trying to get Gedson Fernandes back from his loan in N17.

England internationals Dele Alli and Harry Winks, who are on the fringes of the first team and linked with overseas moves, are expected to stay with Mourinho and the club this month.

In the longer term, Mourinho still wants to add another midfielder to his squad and cover him in defensive midfield.
