Quite a few NBA stars have expressed their displeasure with the league’s decision to hold the All-Star Game this year, when the same announcement went live a few weeks ago. Now that the tension has dropped a bit, it looks like at least one of them is about to show up for the event with a pretty good mood.
Yannis Antecompo, The Milwaukee Bucks superstar, was busy tonight (Thursday through Friday) in his team game against Memphis (the Bucks, in case you were wondering, won 111: 112 from a dramatic Jero Holliday basket). Therefore, he was not aware of the All-Star squad selection by the captains, LeBron James and Kevin Durant. At the end of the game, well, he got an update from the press – and responded in a rather amusing way.
At first, Yannis realized that he was first selected in the “draft” by LeBron and wondered, “Will I get a hat? Do I have to wear a suit now?”. Then, when he heard that Steph Kerry, Luka Doncic and Nikola Jukic would also play with him and LeBron – “The Greek-Freak” provided a ripping response: “Is this the opening five? Yes, it’s over, guys.” And so he concluded: “Me, LeBron, Luca, Jukic and Steph? That’s a pretty good quintet, man.”
