ROME, Jan 3 – In Italy, it seems, true love always finds a way – even in the time of coronavirus.

A post on Facebook has gone viral after a male nurse in a southern hospital praised her boyfriend with the big question scratched on the back of her head-to-toe protective clothing.

In the post, which received more than 500 “likes” by Saturday, Giuseppe Pungente shared a photo of himself in a corridor of the breathing ward of Ostuni hospital in Puglia, turning his back to the camera.

“Carmeli, do you want to marry me?” the message written on the back of Pungente’s gown, with “Yes” and “No” underneath.

In his New Year’s career, Pungente, as a nurse “in the front line in the fight against the virus” who had recovered from Covid-19, wrote, “I developed the idea that life really made of small and simple things …. ”

“Such close friends, birth family and the future, with you, Carmen Pinto.”

The sixteenth message under his picture was Pinto answering “YESSSSSSSSS” followed by seven heart emojis.

Pungente contracted Covid-19 at the onset of the pandemic in March, and in the few days it has been vaccinated, La Repubblica daily report. – AFP
