The International Hunting Sport Federation (ISSF) competition will see hunters from more than 40 countries, including the UK and Brazil.

Last month, Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju said a shorter and more convenient quarantine period would be imposed for the world cup so that they do not stop international hunters from playing. competition at the event.

“I have already confirmed that India will compete internationally in a way that COVID protocols will be followed but foreign players will not stay in quarantine for long and will not be encouraged to participate to take, ”Rijiju said.

Prior to that, a request had been made to the ministry for hunters to be exempt from 14-day hard quarantine and for foreign representatives to receive vaccination shots as a matter of priority.

Hosts India play a strong squad with 57 members in the tournament.

The squad was announced by the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) last month.

The team is made up of the 15 Tokyo Olympic quota winners, including Anjum Moudgil, Divyansh Singh Panwar, Manu Bhaker and Saurabh Choudhary.

Commonwealth Games gold winner Anish Bhanwala was also selected in the 25m fast pistol team.

The competition will be a combined event for rifle, pistol and shotgun shooters with up to 30 different events.

More than 40 countries have so far confirmed their applications, including South Korea, Singapore, the USA, the United Kingdom, Iran, Ukraine, France, Hungary, Italy, Thailand and Turkey.

Some countries that do not send their teams include China, Japan, Germany, Russia, Australia, New Zealand, Kuwait and Malaysia.
