Due to the postponement of the cabinet meeting, which was supposed to decide on the establishment of an exceptions committee, the rescue flight of the Israir company, which was scheduled to depart on Sunday afternoon from Frankfurt airport to Ben Gurion Airport, was postponed. The Exceptions Committee for Permitting Israelis to Fly to Israel will be composed of representatives of the population network in the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministries of Transportation and the Interior.
The government, which is supposed to convene only on Sunday, will decide on the establishment of an exceptions committee that will be authorized to give approvals in humanitarian and exceptional cases. Israir, which was selected at the end of a pricing procedure to carry out the special rescue flights, announced that flight number 276, which was scheduled to depart from Frankfurt for Ben Gurion Airport on Sunday at 14.45, was postponed to a date that is still unknown.
Meanwhile, according to estimates, dozens of Israelis are already staying in Frankfurt, and they have already been prepared for the rescue flight with the latest corona tests and the required approvals.

On Friday, Israir carried out the first rescue flight of Israelis. There were about 50 passengers on the flight from Ben Gurion Airport to the airport in Frankfurt. On the return flight from Frankfurt, only 31 passengers boarded, including representatives of the IDF and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs who returned to Israel. Other Israelis apparently did not manage to get organized with the required permits and some were unable to get on a flight from another destination to Frankfurt due to the short warning.
