Despite the spread of coronavirus infection affecting much of the world for most of the year, Israel still welcomed about 20,000 new immigrants in 2020 according to Jewish Group figures released by recently released.
The figure represents a 59 percent decline from 2019, which saw about 34,000 immigrants, the highest annual figure for the past decade.

According to the Jewish Group, most of the newcomers came from North America and France as in the previous year.
According to the group’s long-term forecasts, about 250,000 people will come to Israel in the next three to five years.
“Since the beginning of the year, the Jewish Group has received approximately 160,000 investigations into immigration to Israel and has opened approximately 41,000 new aliyah claim cases, including 28,000 cases from Western countries. [We have seen] a 41 per cent increase in films with younger adults aged 18 to 35 from Western countries, ”explained Jewish Group.

Meanwhile, more than 300 Ethiopians were deported to Israel in Operation Rock of Israel this month, the Jewish state’s effort to evacuate most of Ethiopia’s survivors to bring back.
Thousands of Ethiopians are still missing in the war zone, with many now waiting for decades for immigration, despite the fact that their families already live in Israel.
