Israel lost 2: 0 to Denmark in the opening of the World Cup qualifying campaign

The Israeli team opened the 2020 World Cup qualifying campaign tonight (Thursday) without much expectation, but hoped for a good result and came off the field in Bloomfield disappointed, like the 5,000 spectators in the stands, with a 2-0 loss.

In the first half hour of the game, the team had a very hard time holding the ball and rarely crossed the half-court line, in the face of high and aggressive pressure from the Danes. In the 13th minute, Martin Braithwaite, a Barcelona player, scored with a bounce over Ofir Marciano after passing Eitan Tibi with unbearable ease.

Israel slowly entered the game after the goal that put them behind, and especially opened the second half great, but in the 68th minute a terrible mistake by another brake, this time Hatem al-Hamid, came up in the second goal of the Danes from the feet of Jonas Wind. This goal broke the team, which once again disappeared from the field and at this point also looked tired.

The two stars of the team, Manor Solomon and Eran Zehavi, provided a not particularly impressive game, but it is hard to blame them because throughout most of the 90 minutes they rarely get balls in dangerous positions. In the end, the level differences between the two teams are clear, and it is impossible to complain to any of the team players about the degree of commitment and effort. The quality just wasn’t enough and Caspar that Michael didn’t really have to leap to stop balls this evening.

On Sunday, Israel will host, again in Bloomfield, Scotland – its most common rival in the various campaigns in recent years, and also one that it can look into the eyes of, compared to the 12th ranked Danes in the world. In the last meeting between the two, Israel won 0: 1 here in Israel, with a debut goal by Manor Solomon in the national uniform. We buy restoration.
