More than 6,000 Israelis have died from COVID-19 since the outbreak of the pandemic in Israel, the Ministry of Health reported on Sunday, with 8 of them dying from midnight alone.
With 6,008 people suffering from the pandemic, the country continued to show signs of decline with 233 deaths since the beginning of March. October 2020 was the longest month of the pandemic with 956 Israelis catching the disease.
The Ministry of Health also said that the percentage of positive results from the 16,545 tests performed since midnight was 2.8% – the lowest level since the beginning of December, before the country entered its third full lockout of the pandemic and marks another decline in diseases tensing in the morning hours.
However, the number of hospitalized coronavirus patients in poor condition increased slightly and stood at 640, with 221 of them connected to ventilators for respiratory assistance.
The number of active coronavirus carriers was declining and stood at about 28,000. The highest number of active cases was in Jerusalem with 4,722 patients currently battling the virus. The capital is then followed by Tel Aviv-Jaffa who has listed 1,309 active coronavirus patients, Netanya with 1,027, Be’er Sheva with 1,018 and Ashkelon with 819 active cases.
Since the launch of the world’s best vaccination campaign, Israel has already infected 5,139,301 of its citizens with the first dose of the vaccine and 4,419, 380 of whom have also received the second dose increase. .
