It was agreed that in two weeks, Israel and Morocco would open official diplomatic missions in Rabat and Tel Aviv.

Many of the citizens of Israel, members of the Moroccan community, will long for this moment. Like me, many members of the second and third generation of Moroccan immigrants living in Israel remain faithful to our ancestral heritage.”.

Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Burita said it was a historic day: “We have decided to open a new era in relations between Israel and Morocco,” he said. He noted that “the three countries recognize the position of the King of Morocco on the Palestinian issue and regarding the preservation of the special character of Jerusalem. The establishment of diplomatic relations between Israel and Morocco will serve the two countries and aid peace and stability in the region.”
