Another union is on the right: Religious Zionism and the Jewish Home will announce a connection tonight (Tuesday), following negotiations between the party leaders Bezalel Smutrich and Hagit Moshe.
The rock of contention between Moshe and Smutrich was the identity of the second candidate in the first quartet. The parties agreed that Bezalel Smutrich would be in the first place and Moshe in the second, but she demanded that the following places be determined by the Richerch method, while in religious Zionism they proposed a compromise according to which Smutrich would choose which of the Jewish House members would be placed in the fourth place.
Until yesterday, Moshe refused, as she did not want to part with Davidi Ben-Zion, who is in second place in the Jewish home, but now she has agreed to accept a compromise according to which the candidate will decide with Smutrich’s consent. Apparently, he will not be Ben Zion.
“Seven seats in case of unification”
In the last few days, the Jewish House has threatened to connect with Jewish power or even with the right, and yesterday they did start exploring. In the right-wing party, they received a “no” and it seems that Naftali Bennett is not interested in joining them. This is mainly because his list is already compiled and there is no real reason to part with expensive real places for very few votes.
Jewish power were more enthusiastic about connecting on the right, also because of a more tangible danger of encounter below the blocking percentage, but in the Jewish home prefer to connect with religious Zionism and only then with Jewish power so as not to find themselves without these two parties eventually.
