Kyrie Irving had a rough shooting night Wednesday in the Brooklyn Nets game against the Atlanta Hawks, but he still goes up by 25 points in the win. That was largely due to his explosion in the fourth quarter, when he scored 17 points on a 7-for-11 shot (3-for-4 from deep) to finish 10-for-27 off the floor ( 3-for -11 from depth).
Irving did not have such luck in Friday’s replay against Trae Young and company. For the first time this season, the Brooklyn star guarded scoring under 25 points, finishing with 18 on a 6-for-21 shooting. Irving’s biggest struggles came from outside the arc, where he only went 2-for-11 – after going 0-for-7 from deep to start Wednesday’s game against Atlanta.
But Irving grabbed 11 boards against the Hawks, marking the eighth double-rebounds of his NBA career tonight, his second double-rebounds points as a member of the Nets (11/2 / 19 against the Detroit Pistons).
Irving will have his next chance to kick back Sunday afternoon against Washington Wizards at Russell Westbrook.
