Iranian nuclear program: Fear that Iran holds nuclear material in the nuclear depot

The International Atomic Energy Agency today (Tuesday) released a report on Iran’s nuclear program, in which it reported that Iran continues to “go far beyond the many limits set out in the nuclear deal”, noting that it is “very concerned that undisclosed nuclear material may exist” The “Atomic Warehouse” in Turquoise, a suburb of Tehran.

According to the report, Iran produced 17.6 kilograms of enriched uranium up to 20% (compared to 0 in November) and enriched as stated to a level of 20% (compared to up to 4.5% in November) – 3.67% above the limit in the nuclear agreement. It stands at 2,967.8 pounds (compared to 2,442.9 pounds in November), 202.8 pounds above the limit in the agreement.

Alongside the regular quarterly report on Iran’s nuclear activities, the International Atomic Energy Agency released another report stating that Iran has not yet answered questions about uranium particles found at two sites inspected last year. As mentioned, the report said it was “deeply concerned” that there may be material “Not declared nuclear” at a location appropriate to the description of the Turquoise Nuclear Facility.

According to the second report, Iran “was supposed to provide answers” about the presence of “anthropogenic uranium parts” found at two sites examined in the past year, but the explanation it provided was “technically unreliable”.

As mentioned, about a year ago, International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors found evidence of radioactive activity in a warehouse in Tehran, which was revealed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a speech at the UN. Nuclear materials were being held at the site that Iran did not report.

In his speech at the UN, Netanyahu claimed that in August 2018 the Iranians removed 15 kilograms of enriched uranium from the atomic warehouse that they had not declared to the International Atomic Energy Agency. He then claimed that this was one of a series of steps taken by the Iranians to “cleanse” the site. So the things and claimed that this is a carpet factory and denied that any nuclear activity was done at the site.
