In 2020, 4,677,700 women lived in Israel, of whom about 27% were aged 0-14, about 60% were aged 15-64 and about 13% were aged 65 and over. This was reported by the Central Bureau of Statistics, which published data on the occasion of International Women’s Day, which took place today.
According to the data, at the end of 2018, 50.4% of the women in the Jewish and other population aged 25-29 were married, compared with 73% of the Arab women in this age group. Ten years earlier (in 2008) the figure was 53.8% among Jews and others and 80.7% among Arab women.
The data also show that among women aged 45-49, 10% of the women in the Jewish and other populations were single, compared with 11.5% of Arab women. A decade earlier, the figure was 6.3% among Jews and others and 11.3% among Arabs.
The average number of children a woman in Israel is expected to give birth to during her lifetime is 3.01, higher than the average in OECD countries, which stands at 1.6
The average age of women who gave birth to their first child rose from 25.7 in the early 2000s to 27.7 in 2019. 6.1% of all babies born to Jewish women in 2019 were single women – a 2-fold jump from 2000.
About 9% of women aged 15 and over live in Geffen (about 297,000 women), compared with about 8% of men. The segmentation shows that the proportion of Jewish women living in Geffen is higher than the proportion of Arab women living in Geffen – about 11%, compared with about 4%, respectively.
Life expectancy in Israel in 2019 was 84.7 years for women and 81 years for men.
The CBS also noted that since the first Corona case in Israel, at the end of February 2020, until February 22 this year, a similar number of women and men have been vaccinated against the virus – about 350,000 in each sex.

The CBS noted that since the outbreak of the corona crisis, the average labor force for March-December 2020 of unemployed and unemployed women who were temporarily absent from work each week was 17.1% of the labor force, compared with 14.8% among men.
91% of employed women reported that they were very satisfied with the balance between home and work, and another 46% reported that they were satisfied.

479 drivers were involved in fatal road accidents (with at least one fatality) in 2020, and only 60 of them were women. Although according to the data women drive less than men, in the green light we noted that the data are sharp and clear and their involvement in fatal road accidents is significantly less.
19,328 drivers were involved in road accidents with casualties in 2020, with women involved in 23% of accidents. “Women drive more safely and are less likely to take risks while driving,” noted Green Light CEO Erez Kita.
