Inter Milan-Juventus staff spat being investigated by Italian FA

The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has opened an investigation into the behavior of Inter Milan and Juventus workers during the second semifinal leg of the Coppa Italia on Tuesday, it said on Thursday.

The coach between Antonio Conte was caught on camera lighting a middle finger towards the Juventus staff. Local media reported that Juve president Andrea Agnelli despised Conte, who was the coach of the Turin club.

The match, known as the “Italian Derby” came as a result of the historic clash between the clubs, culminating in a 0-0 draw, a result that Juve put into the final with a 2-1 overall victory.

The conduct of the two sets of club directors and staff will be observed by Federal Prosecutor Giuseppe Chine.

The fourth official from the match, Daniele Chiffi, was called to give evidence.

Conte, who worked under Agnelli as Juventus coach for three years before retiring the day after he started preseason training in 2014, has said he was consistently insulted throughout the game.

“I think the fourth official heard and saw what happened throughout the game,” he said.

“They should be more polite in my opinion. They need more fun and respect for those who work.”
