Danny Abdia is getting used to life in the NBA and after his first two weeks in Washington he seems to have bought his place. Apart from the praise that the Israeli star receives from all sides, there is also a very interesting statistic that testifies more than anything to the influence of the Israeli star on his new team.
Data from the start of the season in the NBA shows that Abdia has the best index among Washington players – 10.5. In second place is Roy Hachimura with 9.6 and Russell Westbrook only fifth with 2.2.
What does this actually mean? The overall index is an inclusion of the offensive index less the defensive index of each player. The offensive index means how many points the team scores when a certain player is on the floor every 100 passes and the defensive index is how many points the team absorbs when the same player is on the floor.
Abdia is in second place in the offensive index as Washington scores 120.3 points in every 100 passes while on the field (below Roy Hachimura -12.2). The Israeli defensive index is in fifth place, with the Wizards absorbing 109.8 points for every 100 passers-by.
