
Palmeiras won the Libertadores. Tonight (Saturday) the South American Cup final was held with a Brazilian derby between Santos and Palmeiras, in which the Greens won 0: 1 in overtime and celebrated a second win in history in the prestigious Cup. The climax of the final came in the 99th minute, when Brno hit inside and set up a dramatic victory.
This is the first time since 2006 that every Brazilian final and it was held at the Maracana Stadium, in front of 5,000 spectators. In the semifinals, the finalists ousted Boca Juniors and River Plate and reached the prestigious class for the fifth time. Santos has won the title three times in the past, the last of which was in 2011, while Palmeiras has only done so once, in 1999 and repeated history tonight.

Santos started the game in control and held the ball more, but did not get too far to the goal of Palmeiras and threatened only once for the frame in the first 20 minutes. The game continued to be nervous and lively, with few situations and the teams went down 0-0 at the half. In the 59th minute, Diego Pituca threw himself towards the top of the field and missed the ball with his head.
