Netanyahu and Edelstein, who will launch the vaccination campaign in Israel, will be vaccinated at Sheba Hospital in front of the live cameras. The public vaccine is intended to serve as an example and encourage the general public to get vaccinated against the virus.

The prime minister will be one of the first leaders in the world to be vaccinated against the corona. President Reuven Rivlin is expected to be vaccinated on Sunday at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem. Earlier today, Interior Minister Aryeh Deri announced that he would be vaccinated on Sunday: “I will do this to set an example to the public, because it is very important, life-saving and instructed by the great men of Israel. The Corona Cabinet will convene on Sunday to make decisions regarding the imposition of additional restrictions in accordance with the “tightened restraint” outline, in light of the increase in morbidity. Following a consultation with Blue and White Ministers, Defense Minister Bnei Gantz announced that the position of the Blue and White Bloc regarding the imposition of restrictions would be determined “in accordance with morbidity data, segmentation of mortality data and only subject to presentation of the vaccination plan and its expected effect.”
