A Bureau of Central Statistics report released Thursday showed that 44,154 deaths were registered in Israel from January 2020 to the end of November 2020, of which 3,314 were assigned to COVID-19, making up one in 15 death in the country.

Data also show that the population of Israel grew by about 151,000 inhabitants in the past year, an increase of 1.7%, 84% of which was due to natural growth (176,000 births) and 16% to immigrants – some 20,000 migrants, 38.1% of whom come from Russia, 15.1% from Ukraine, 11% from France, and 10.7% from the United States.

The number fell between January and October 42.6% compared to the same period in 2019.

The number of COVID deaths in the first several months of the pandemic in Israel and the percentage from the country’s total deaths were a comparative law. However, deaths have been on the rise since mid-July.
