“I’m going crazy because of the combinations with vaccines”

Former Director General of the Ministry of Health, Moshe Bar-Siman Tov, this evening (Monday) sharply criticized the conduct of the vaccination campaign. “It drives me crazy with the vaccinated and organized groups in a population that is vaccinated before everyone else. The trust between the government and the citizens must be maintained. This is not true,” he said at the “Communication in Corona” conference at Ariel University.

On the order of the vaccinated: “The Ministry of Health should determine the priority according to the clinical and functional consideration of the economy. I do not know if the security forces should be vaccinated at this stage. Teachers should be ahead of them, in the sense of returning to routine. We are not going to occupy Wuhan. “I’m dying to get vaccinated too,” Bar-Siman stressed, “but the sense of fairness that is harmed is not pleasant.”

Regarding the activities of the education system: “Two weeks ago it was possible to leave studies in the form of capsules, now it is too late. My view as a citizen – it’s like roulette, that every hour another message arrives. We see a rapid spread in places that were previously protected.”

As for the mistakes made in his time: “At my level – the transfer of epidemiological investigations to the HMOs should have been considered, but these are things that are complicated to build. I will talk about the mistakes of myself and not of others. This is something that should have been considered.”

Regarding the whole crisis: “This is an event that involves the whole public with great intensity for a long time. I understand the public erosion around this thing. We need to continue. We do not have the privilege. Certainly not now, as we move into a chronic phase of this event.”
