Ilana Dayan and Amit Segalf, two of Israel’s top journalists, held a conversation today (Sunday) at the N12 “Influencers Conference” and discussed Corona, the right versus the left and the battle elections, and Netanyahu’s files.
The two first talked about the corona plague. Dayan claimed that “the plague has gnawed at our solidarity. It has emphasized islands of separatism, autonomy and intolerance.” Segal, on the other hand, said that his conclusion was the following: “In what other circumstances would we talk about adapting the ultra-Orthodox education system to the 21st century? Or about reaching the elderly from the Bedouin diaspora for the purpose of providing services?”
Dayan then addressed the question of whether faculty coverage was affected by his sense of mission. “I feel that the deep sense of mission with which you come from home makes you take it one step further and want to stick a pin in the balloon of leftists in the media. Could it be that this sense of mission expressed in your journalism is disrupting your proportions? We are both journalists, despite disagreements. The opinions between us, are you able to look at Netanyahu’s cases from above and want them to be clarified? “
Segal replied: They had to go through two days of reference on social media for the media to comment on the things I revealed. I suspect we have not yet reached the right balance in the media. “The picture presented to the public is one-sided. We are not objective, we all look at reality differently – even Ilana Dayan,” Segal replied. “The question is this: in the fact that we look at reality differently, do we contribute to the overall picture?”.
“Two very dramatic court decisions were made: to amend the indictment and reprimand him for violating the provisions of the Basic Law of the Government when he did not sign an investigation. .
