Hollywood star Idris Elba has signed a contract with publisher HarperCollins to come up with a range of children’s books inspired by his daughter Isan Elba.
As part of the multi-book contract, the actor will publish picture and fiction books he has developed in collaboration with his writing partner Robyn Charteris.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the books are ready for launch in 2022.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to bring stories inspired by my daughter to life with my amazing partner Robyn Charteris, and the power team at HarperCollins,” Elba said in a statement.
Charteris has previously written drama, pre-school and TV animation shows, including the soap “Crossroads”.
Ann-Janine Murtagh, active publisher at HarperCollins Children’s Books, said Elba was one of the most iconic and multi-talented creative groups of its generation.
“I am delighted that he is joining the HarperCollins Children’s Booklist. From the outset, Idris had a very clear vision for the characters and stories he came up with, and is passionate about creating books that every child will enjoy, ”she said.
On the front of the film, Elba appears next in James Gunn’s “The Suicide Squad” and in Netflix’s “Concrete Cowboy”
