The IDF announced Monday that all routes between Israel and the Palestinian territories will be closed on Election Day on Tuesday.
The closure will begin Monday at midnight, when all access to the West Bank and Gaza Strip will be closed.
The IDF said the closure is likely to be lifted Tuesday night at midnight, pending approval from the defense center.
The IDF said admission permits can still be granted at the time of closure on a case-by-case basis, especially for emergencies such as the need for emergency medical assistance.
Routes into and out of the West Bank and Gaza Strip will also be closed for Passover, the military added.
6,578,084 eligible Israeli voters will cast their ballots Tuesday for the fourth time in two years.
Israeli Police said Sunday that they will send about 20,000 officers over 13,000 polling stations across the country. Police also deploy 15 special teams, including undercover officers, at hundreds of polling stations where unusual incidents have been recorded in the past.
It will be incumbent on the teams to thwart “any attempts to damage the integrity of the election.”
Around 3,500 police officers with body cameras also patrol places around polling stations. Some boards will be equipped so that they can determine who the voters are.
