‘I want to go home’

Stipe recalled Miocic recently when Brock Lesnar entered the UFC octagon after Daniel Cormier defeated Miocic at UFC 226.

In a recent scene on the Oral Sessions show with Renee Paquette, Stipe Miocic shared his account of what happened and shed light on his state of mind in the octagon after the biggest loss of his career. When the guest asked Miocic what he thought of seeing Lesnar in the cage, he said:

“I want to go home. I’m just lost. It’s just kind of weird that I haven’t lost even in a year or two … I just kinda felt like I was knocked down by the guy who should It was just kind of a group … I had no idea what was going on. Just before I walked out they showed him (Brock Lesnar) a cut in the TV I’ll see what’s going on here.You put some two in and two together but yeah, it was just kind of weird.I wish I could have spoken my ‘hey guys, I’m request a resumption ‘but (it did not happen), “said Stipe Miocic.

The UFC was approaching the former UFC champion and pro-wrestling sensation returning Brock Lesnar before the fight began. Lesnar was in attendance at the event which was enjoyed by many old school fans and into the UFC octagon after their completion.

After receiving a brief scuffle with newly crowned champion Daniel Cormier, Brock Lesnar adopted the son and announced his return to the UFC.

“I’ll tell you something. I walked into this building and watched the heavy disasters from the beginning, (Francis) NGannou the sh * t piece, (Stipe) Miocic the sh * t piece, DC (Daniel Cormier) I’m coming to you MF, ”Brock Lesnar said in a classic pro-wrestling swagger.

Brock Lesnar’s retirement put an end to all the speculations about Lesnar’s fight against Cormier. Cormier fought Stipe Miocic in a replay at UFC 241 after defending his belt against Derrrick Lewis nine months earlier. Miocic won the fight through a fourth-round strike and subsequently won the UFC 252 trilogy fight in 2020 through a unanimous decision.

Stipe Miocic intends to defend the overweight title against Francis NGannou at UFC 260 on March 27, 2021. The fight is a re-enactment of their first meeting in 2018 which won Miocic through a unanimous decision to be the only overweight champion in UFC history to win the title three times in a row. The card also features a featherweight title fight between champion Alexander Volkanovski and revivalist Brian Ortega. The location of the event will be announced in the coming weeks.
