Killian Ambape (Reuters)
Much has been said about the future of Killian Ambape, but one of the top coaches in world football, Arsene Wenger, has revealed an interesting detail about the past of Paris Saint-Germain star, who starred with a crazy hat-trick at the Camp Nou 1-4 over Barcelona – the French coach claimed when he was At Arsenal, he could have signed the striker at no cost at all.
“I was at Ambape’s house when he was debating whether to extend his contract in Monaco,” he revealed Wenger, “He could have come to Arsenal for free, but I think all the clubs are full of stories like that. “He is currently at the level of Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo and had an amazing game at the Camp Nou that night.”
This is not the first time Wenger himself has revealed he was very close to attaching a star. In fact, he also recalled what had happened to him with Ronaldo in the past: “He was very close to Arsenal, we were unlucky because Carlos Cyrus talked to Alex Ferguson when he arrived in Manchester and within a week convinced United to sign him.”
