Chelsea star Callum Hudson-Odoi has said he loves life under new manager Thomas Tuchel.
Tuchel has used Hudson-Odoi as a backup and the 20-year-old has responded with three decisive hits in his new role.
Hudson-Odoi failed to lock out regular minutes under former Tuchel Frank Lampard, but he has now started the previous three games at Paris Saint Germain as Blues head coach .
The bigger picture
Hudson-Odoi has been regarded as one of Chelsea’s brightest prospects for years but has often struggled to find consistent playing time under Lampard.
But Tuchel, who replaced the former England international last week after being sacked, has offered him a new lease at Chelsea in a new position.
An attacking player, Hudson-Odoi is usually moved back to wing by Tuchel and has responded with three convincing tackles.
Chelsea have now won two and led one of Tuchel’s three biggest games, including back-to-back victories over Burnley and Tottenham.
What Hudson-Odoi said about Tuchel
“I like it because it’s motivating when a side manager guides you and pushes you and yells at you,” Hudson-Odoi said Sky Sports. “Sometimes you don’t like to shout but sometimes it encourages players to keep improving and keep showing your quality.
“I love it all. He’s come up with a real reason to try to get us to win games as fast and as fast as possible. Try his techniques that put the get involved as soon as possible too. We are all enjoying the moment and hope we can continue. “
What Tuchel said about Hudson-Odoi
“We let him drive and he did really well, showing all his quality: the high speed, the fast advantages, dribbles, one-on-one good,” Tuchel told a website Chelsea.
“He took his chance. There was no need to change for the second game and he made another good game.
“Maybe in some air defense duels there’s room for improvement, but this is completely normal. I’m very glad he was happy to be on the pitch. He gave his best and that’s what ask us. “
