Huawei Technologies Co. away games Tencent Holdings Ltd. from their app store as some terms of collaboration vary between the two tech giants.

The action was taken after Tencent made a “major change” on December 31 in how the companies work together, according to an official announcement posted on Huawei’s game app. He did not detail the change.

While most smartphones in China use Google’s Android operating system, the US company’s Play store is not available and apps are sold by mainland manufacturers and others. . Huawei was the largest smartphone maker in the country in the September quarter by 43% of loads, according to Counterpoint Research.

Huawei said its decision came after an assessment by its legal team and was based on the premise that Tencent unilaterally wants to suspend cooperation. A review of Huawei’s app store showed that Tencent games like the Chinese version of Arena of Valor are no longer available.

Tencent’s game results were extracted from Huawei’s app store early Friday, when the promotion agreement between the companies expired before a new one was reached, a Tencent spokesman said in a statement in response to Bloomberg investigations.

“We are communicating and negotiating with Huawei’s mobile game platform for a solution, and we hope to restart our services as soon as possible,” he said.
