Without any headlines, HTC quietly announced their 5G mid-range smartphone, the Desire 21 Pro 5G. The landing page on its official website in Taiwan provides all the specs we need along with pricing and accessibility.
The device is built around a 6.7-inch IPS LCD resolution display, 1080 x 2400px supporting 90Hz refresh rate and HDR10 content. The panel powered by a Snapdragon 690 chipset supports 5G connectivity and is powered by 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage that can be expanded via microSD. No other storage changes available.
In the back are four cameras – 48MP main camera with f / 1.8 aperture, 8MP ultrawide one with f / 2.2 aperture and two additional 2MP sensors one used for macro shots while the other provides information depth. The front, where the punch hole is centered, occupies a 16MP unit.
A 5,000 mAh battery keeps the lights on supporting fast QC 4.0+ charges up to 18W. Sadly, the Android 10 phone ran out of the box.
The phone is currently available for pre-order only in Taiwan without word of global release. The colors available are blue and purple and the TWD launch price is 11,990 (~ $ 430), which is a bit steep and hopefully the price will be different for the rest of the world.
