Moving from WhatsApp to Signal is as easy as creating your profile on the last one by giving your phone number and then uninstalling the old app from your device. But native is not able to transfer conversations from WhatsApp and Signal. This could be one of the reasons that led many users to stick with the Facebook-owned app. However, there is an approach to migrate your WhatsApp groups to the Signal app by following some simple steps. These are equally relevant for both Android and iOS users.
Before you start with this tutorial, it is important to note that the workflow is only relevant in migrating WhatsApp groups to Signal. This will not allow you to transfer your WhatsApp conversations to Signal. It also cannot be used to transfer your existing WhatsApp group chairs to the Signal app.
How to move WhatsApp groups to Signal
Below are the steps you can follow on your Android phone or iPhone to migrate WhatsApp groups to Signal. Make sure you have the latest version of the Signal app for easy transition.

Open the Signal app on your phone.

Tap on the three dots tab available from the top right corner of the screen in case you don’t have an Android phone and then tap on the New group option. If you have an iPhone, you can do so by tapping the pencil icon from the top right of the screen.

You can select or click on one of the members of your group Take a leap button. You can add members of your group at a later time.

Now, give your group a name. This could be the only name you want to transfer from WhatsApp to Signal.

You are now prompted with a pop-up dialog box to invite friends through a link. Just click on the Enable and share connection button available on that pop-up box.

This will provide a table that allows you to find ways to share your group connection. Choose Copy from that table.

Now, open the WhatsApp group you want to move to Signal.

Enter the group link you copied from Signal.
This will allow members of your WhatsApp group to move to your newly created Signal group. Once all your members have been moved to your Signal group, you can disable the link you enabled. This will help avoid letting any strangers into your group.
