You can now use Google Assistant for voice searches in Google Chrome on Android, and not a minute too soon. The move saves Chrome users from the abstract voice recognition you were previously asked to deal with.
Google Assistant is more customizable, and integrates your in-app Chrome searches into the helper’s wider cross-app activity. Google Assistant accuracy is also better. It recognizes multilingual by default, so multilingual users no longer have to change their default language in Android settings to search the web in a different language.
Chrome will also support the new redesign of Google Assistant, which is now a full-screen interface with snazzy glossy lighting rather than a small window in the third of the display. However, the new Google Assistant interface is not required; you can enable Google Assistant voice monitoring on all devices, it will look just different depending on what UI your phone is using.
Despite its advantages, Google Assistant voice monitoring is not a basic feature in Chrome. You need to enable the trial feature by enabling the Chrome flag, but it is available on all Android devices using Chrome 87 or higher. Google Chrome Assistant may be turned off by default in a later update, but here’s how to enable it manually for now:

- Open Chrome on your Android device and create a new browser tab.

chrome://flags#omnibox-assistant-voice-search - Tap on the drop down menu under Omnibox Assistant Voice Search.
- Choose “Enabled.”
- Tap on it “Relaunch” when prompted to save the changes and restart Chrome.
To use the new voice search, tap the microphone icon in Chrome ‘s Omnibox bar to launch Google Assistant. Ask your question or speak your search criteria strongly; Google Assistant will answer your query by voice and open a new Chrome tab with relevant Google search results.
