Before deleting your account, you will want to export your chairs. Fortunately, that’s simple. Just tap on the name of the thread you want to save, located at the top, and then scroll down to Export conversation. You can also choose whether you want to save all the images and videos in the thread.

Now is the time to request your full account data. Tap on it Circumstances in the bottom right corner of the app. Then tap Account and Request account information. WhatsApp says it will take around three days to receive your report, but the company will warn you when it’s ready.

Take a deep breath and prepare to erase your account before delete the app from your phone. Fo Circumstances and Account, tap Delete my account. Deleting your account will delete your messages, remove you from group conversations, and delete your backups. It’s that simple.

As you can see, leaving WhatsApp is easy enough. The hard part is convincing your friends, family and colleagues to dig the Facebook messaging app as well. Bye!
