A hospital in Illinois has halted the process of administering coronavirus vaccines after several health care workers reported adverse effects on the scenes.
Four employees at the Condell Advocate Medical Center in Libertyville, Illinois, reported symptoms that included tingling and elevated heart rate after the vaccinations, prompting the hospital to rule them out, according to ABC 7 Chicago.
In a statement, the hospital noted that the four team members represent 0.15% of the 3,000 people who received the vaccine and said that three members of the home team are in good health and one is receiving “Additional treatment. ”
Five health care workers report allergies to the vaccine in Alaska earlier this year, and a Tennessee nurse went viral Thursday after while speaking to reporters shortly after receiving the vaccine.
A number of prominent politicians have publicly taken the vaccine in an effort to allay fears about possible negative side effects (which health experts say they occur but are rare), including Vice President Mike Pence, who gave the vaccine live on television Friday.
After the vaccination, Pence said, “I didn’t feel anything. Well done. It is to build confidence in the vaccine we give here in the morning. “
