Hornets’ Gordon Hayward suffers an avulsion fracture of the right pink finger

The injured beast has followed Gordon Hayward from Boston to Charlotte.

In his second preseason game with the Hornets on Monday night, the forward Celtics suffered an avulsion fracture of the fifth right wing. The team announced that Hayward will miss Thursday ‘s preseason matchup against Orlando Magic and and “everyday.”

Hayward dealt with multiple injuries during his three-year tenure in Boston, most notably the broken tibia / broken ankle he suffered just minutes into his Celtics debut. The 30-year-old broke his arm early last season and lost time in the playoffs due to a sprained ankle.

The Hornets signed Hayward to a four-year, $ 120 million contract during the offseason.
