Hodgson will play down Zaha’s transfer speech amid PSG and AC Milan connections

The Eagles are again being tied forward with a move away, but his manager wants no deal to come.

Roy Hodgson says he is not worried about the future of Wilfried Zaha despite a new round of rumors of a move regarding the Crystal Palace going forward.

Hodgson has become accustomed to dealing with profiteering about the Ivory Coast striker, who is linked to a move away from Selhurst Park seemingly every move window.

Arsenal and Everton reportedly came close to landing in Zaha in the summer of 2019, but eventually stayed in south London.

With the January window now open a new round of profiteering links Zaha with a move away from the club. Inspired by his good form in this campaign which sees him top the Eagles scoring charts with eight goals in 14 appearances, already doubling his outlook from the 2019-20 season to h -full.

AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain are the latest clubs to be linked with a move for the 28-year-old this month. The Hodgson would not be familiar, however, drawn on the rumors and is confident that they will not adversely affect the player’s form.

“Today I tend to let those concerns disappear, as they often do,” the former England manager told reporters.

“Good Wilf, there is no doubt about that. It doesn’t surprise me that there would be clubs out there that would want to sign him, but there have to be a lot of things before a player leaves a club and joins a new one.

“I’m just delighted right now that Wilf is playing the way he is, showing the control, attention and enthusiasm for football and the club he has shown.

“And I’m just working on the foundation so that I can find another reason why I should expect that to continue.”

Next up for Crystal Palace is a home side clash with Sheffield United down side Saturday. They enter the game without a win in five games, one of which beats 7-0 with Liverpool heroes.

They then go on to play three games in a row, against Wolves in the FA Cup before the Premier League travels to Arsenal and Manchester City.
