History: The Chief Rabbi of Israel in the United Arab Emirates

History in the UAE: The Chief Rabbi of Israel – Rishon LeZion Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef will pay a visit to the Jewish community of the United Arab Emirates during Shabbat. During his visit, Rabbi Yosef is expected to meet with senior Emirates officials, inaugurate the new Jewish school in Dubai, and attend a festive and special ceremony with the community rabbi.

Also during the visit, Chief Rabbi Yosef will inaugurate the community’s new nursery, tour the new Hachshara restaurant at the Burj Khalifa Tower in Dubai and inaugurate a new community synagogue in Abu Dhabi.

Rabbi Levi Duchman, rabbi of the JCC, said: “The Chief Rabbi’s visit is historic and for us it is also a great honor to host him here in the Emirates. We are happy to welcome him as we mentor and break through in some of our new institutions.”

Daniel Sil, a member of the director of the Beit Tefilah synagogue in Abu Dhabi, added: “This historic visit embodies the historical achievements of recent months. With gratitude to the Crown Prince, the Honorable Sheikh Muhammad bin Zaid, we can celebrate a new era of cooperation “We are going to ensure that Jews who come to work or visit Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and throughout the Emirates, have access to Jewish institutions and services.”
