Heigl and Connick Jr. appear in the psychological thrush ‘Fear of Rain’

(Reuters) – The new psychological thrush “Fear of Rain” takes listeners inside the minds of a schizophrenic teenager who struggles to tell the difference between a horrible lie and a truth.

The film features Katherine Heigl and Harry Connick Jr. as the parents of Rain Burroughs (Madison Iseman), who is trying to settle back into normal high school life after being hospitalized for psychosis.

Rain discovers that the sight of a young girl held as a guest in her neighbor’s loft is not an imaginary sight, so she tries to find out the truth with help. from the new Caleb of the class, played by Israel Broussard.

Written and directed by Castille Landon, “Fear of Rain” was assassinated in 2019, before most of the world went into coronavirus lockout.

“This film comes at a time when we want to connect with each other, when mental illness has become an important conversation,” Connick told Reuters. “So it’s completely different … means and I think it couldn’t have been a better time. ”

As Rain navigates the mundane facts of living, her parents look at him helplessly.

Heigl, a mother of three, said she recognized her character with temptation and heartbreak.

“There is nothing that can separate you from watching your child suffer,” she said.

Gramick-winning musician Connick returns to the big screen after more than six years in office.

“I love making films, but a lot of pieces have to fall in place,” he said.

“I do other things I enjoy too. I love being on the Broadway stage. I really like recording music. And I read a lot of scripts … and this one was great.

“I think it’s an important story. I think that’s something I had to do for me. ”

“Fear of Rain” was released on VOD and in some theaters in the United States on February 12 and on DVD and Blu-ray on Tuesday.
